NaBloPoMo Day 18

The prompt for today is:

What turns you on, excites you, makes life worth living?
Odd question, but I’ll answer the best I can. I am really dorky, and really love programming, computers and technology. Even when I’m just sitting around I’m usually messing with some code, or trying to learn more about new technology. Its kind of an addiction.

I’m also really passionate about art, especially illustration. Although I go through phrases of not doing any illustration at all (currently in one, guilty!), when I’m feeling it, there are few things I enjoy more in the world. I really love the feel of pencil on paper, although I’ve been drawing more on my iPad lately, which I guess is kind of marrying two of my favorite things.

The prompt for yesterday was:

What’s on your wall: prints, posters, photos, paintings? What makes you want to hang something up?
At home we have paintings, photos and some of our own artwork. At work I have photos of us, my family, and Evie. I’m not sure I have any real criteria for hanging something up, it just has to be something I want to look at more than once I guess, haha.

I enjoy our artwork that is up at home the most. There is an awesome chalk drawing Nicole did in high school of Frankenstein, an amazing pencil drawing my brother Eric did of James Dean for Nicole, and a chalk drawing of Nicole’s Grandpa Dick I did after he died. All of them are very unique, and it is really cool to explain them to people visiting.

The prompt from today is:

Tell us about what you’re wearing today. Where’d you get your shoes? How long have you had that tie? Is that your grandmother’s watch?
Today, I’m wearing some jeans I got at the Gap, a sweater I got from Aeropostale, some underwear from Calvin Klein, and some Puma shoes I got at the mall. I’m also wearing my wedding ring, my cross necklace, and my charity: water bracelet that I have not taken off since Big Omaha in May, haha.

The prompt from Friday is:

Write the first paragraph of your autobiography.
The world got a little brighter on a cold day in February of 1979. A baby boy was born to a lucky mother and father in Des Moines, IA. Little did they know on that day who and what their son would someday become. That boy, as you might have guessed, was me, Nick Leeper.
