during the last year of my working, i’ve been introduced to the mysterious and neurotic creature they call kraus…

although difficult to capture in the wild, my corporate zoo has tamed one into occupying cell3 from 8:45-5:30ish daily…during this time, i’ve learned much about this creature, from the odd to the downright disturbing…

however, the biggest mystery of the kraus remains its diet consisting solely of krausburgers, cooked to perfection on its george foreman grill and devoured while lying on the couch and watching twins games…this culinary delight does not make your stomach sing the blues, or otherwise affect your sunny disposition in any way…now i have looked all over the greater des moines area to find one of these delicious meals, but my quest has so far remained fruitless…alas, i may never get to experience this modern culinary wonder called the krausburger myself, and thus discover the mystery of all that is kraus…

so, i still have my job, which i am extremely happy about…not that i was all that worried, but still, anything could happen…plus, all of cell6 still has their jobs, so that is good too, because work would be much more boring without them…

in the last week, i’ve been to walmart way more than the recommended dosage…

it started on thursday last week when nicole and i went to get some rechargeable batteries for my digital camera…things were going ok, considering we were at the scary walmart on 8th St in West Des Moines…after grabbing the batteries we realized we needed some water and juice and stuff for home, so we headed over to the food section…on the way over, we heard some couple talking, and the girl yells “hey, i think i’ve boned that chick before”…so, that would have been cool had we not been at walmart, and that girl hadn’t looked so below average…

next we head up to the checkout, and get behind a guy with two younger girls…they have a ton of groceries, plus the biggest, cheapest bottle of vodka i’ve ever seen…anyway, the cashier lady is ringing up the items, looking more and more like she wants to just jab something into her eye and end her misery, when she rings up the vodka…now, this girl, who can barely be 18, has her credit card out, but the guy hands the cashier his ID…she looks at it, and keeps ringing up stuff…the girl pays for the groceries and they leave…as we are walking up to pay, the lady goes “crap, i think i just sold alcohol to minors, there is no way that girl was 21!”…no kidding lady

lastly, lest you think it is only our walmart that is scary/trashy, we had to return the rechargeable batteries on friday, and since we were in altoona, decided to stop at that one…i walk up to the “customer service” counter, and see a guy trying to pry apart a car stereo at the counter…the lady looks at us and goes “don’t worry, he’s just trying to get his CD out”…ummm, ok…then the guy is like “well, its a mixed CD i made at home, so this baby can’t be replaced”…ummm, ok…so the lady who “helps” us decides to ignore me and flirt with the stereo thief, as they try to get him to stay up there and talk to them, but he can’t because “his girlfriend is coming over to vist for the night”…i seriously wanted to shoot myself and them, but decided against it and just exchanged the batteries…

anyway, the point of this story was, yes Cedric, you are right, walmart is the “evil empire”, fueled by white trash and underage drinking…
